Homemade Strawberry Chips: Prevent Diabetes and Lose Weight

To make these chips you only need two ingredients, fresh strawberries and honey. Strawberries are rich in fiber and Vitamin C, and they also contain some minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.  Eating high nutrient density foods such as strawberries is a key to weight loss and healthy eating.

Strawberries are rich in ellagic acid and anthocyanins, which increases the body’s production of a hormone called adiponectin. Thishormone stimulates your metabolism and suppresses your appetite.

According to some recent studies the regular intake of strawberries in tightly connected to the decreased risk of type 2 diabetes. The ellagic acid and the anthocyanins can also control the blood sugar levels.

Here we will give you the recipe for the homemade strawberry chips.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 strawberries, rinsed and hulled

Preparation

Put the honey in a saucepan. Add the water and put this mixture on a stove to boil. Stir this mixture until the honey has dissolved. Once the honey is dissolved take the saucepan aside and let the mixture cool completely.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Slice strawberries lengthwise as thinly as possible.

Take every strawberry slice and dip it in the syrup. Then lay the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake the strawberry slices at a low temperature until they dry out. It usually takes about 2 hours.


Once the strawberries are dried take them out of the oven and place on a plate. Wait for them to cool and they are ready. Enjoy.
