Carrots are
vegetables that do not include too much calories, but are rich in vitamins and
fiber. Foods that are rich in fiber pass quickly through the gut unlike some
other foods. Moreover, if you want to lose weight, carrots may help you do
that, and also, you will obtain other health benefits.
The carrot
diet
You can eat
another vegetable that has low calories, such as cucumbers, zucchini, turnips,
dill pickles, etc, but because of their great nutritional content, carrots are
preferable. You will feet full, and thus you’ll eat less. Even consuming plain
water before a meal will create the feeling of being full.
This diet
helps in quick weight loss and cleanses body.
This is
what you need to do to get rid of about 6 pounds in 4 days. It is a very simple
diet.
Consume 2-3
carrots during every meal. Grate them and add lemon juice.
Besides
carrots, you can add some fruits such as apple, 2-3 kiwi or an orange for
breakfast. Fruits can be consumed only during breakfast.
You can mix
the grated carrots with broccoli or cauliflower for lunch.
For dinner,
eat greens, such as kale, lettuce, cucumber etc. along with the carrots.
It is
highly recommended to consume water and sugar free tea. But, you are not
allowed to consume salt or oil during this diet.
Taking
three carrots daily is not too much, but if you notice an orange tinge on your
palms or other skin areas decrease the number of carrots taken daily.
What are
the benefits?
A cup of
raw carrots juice includes less than 53 calories. Carrots are a good source of
vitamins B1, B3, B6, K and C, dietary fiber, manganese, molybdenum, magnesium,
folate, potassium and phosphorus. Carrots are rich in antioxidants and contain
chlorine and sulfur that help the liver remove toxins.
Carrots
contain calcium and can even protect against lung cancer.
Things to
keep in mind
Carrots are
excellent for adding them to any diet, but as I have already mentioned above,
consuming too much carrots can have side effects. Beta-carotene, which is a
type of carotenoid, becomes vitamin A inside the body.
When there is a surplus
of vitamin A, it is piled up in fat and turns the skin orange or yellow. This
condition is known as carotoderma.
